And they pick and choose as to what part of the season they are going to harvest their crop so they can make sure the oils are the quality that they’re looking for. The nets prevent the olives from touching the ground. It’s all employed with people with full-time jobs. Lions Creek put up nets and they have no mechanical rakes. In other practices, they will essentially shake the trees and rake them and then collect the fruit after it falls down. As a part of their growing process, the olives never touch the ground. The product has very little contact with the air so the oxidization process doesn’t occur as much. They produce, process and bottle right in South Africa and then ship to North America. Lions Creek grows the olives in their plantation in South Africa. It’s a better product than you typically find on the shelves in grocery stores. This extraction process extends the shelf life and enhances the flavour and the health benefits.
